Characteristics of polypropylene staple fiber:
1. Low density
Among all synthetic fibers, the density of polypropylene short fiber is relatively low, about 0.91g/cm3, so it is very light in weight and covers a large area per unit weight of fiber.
2. High strength. Polypropylene short fiber has high strength, strong curl elasticity, low melting point, good surface air permeability, and better acid and alkali resistance and wear resistance than other fibers.
3. Wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant
The plane wear resistance of polypropylene short fiber is second only to nylon, and its corrosion resistance: it has obvious stability to inorganic acids and alkali.
4. Almost no moisture absorption.
Polypropylene staple fiber has excellent moisture conductivity, flexibility, excellent web-forming and carding properties, and excellent thermal adhesion. It absorbs almost no moisture, has a moisture regain of less than 0.03%, has a small fabric shrinkage, and has a strong wicking effect of fine-denier polypropylene fiber.
5. Has excellent electrical conductivity and thermal insulation
Polypropylene staple fiber has high resistivity (710cm) and low thermal conductivity. Compared with other chemical fibers, polypropylene has good electrical insulation and thermal insulation properties.
